Our client, a regulated financial services provider operating within the digital payments and transaction banking sector, is looking to hire a Business Development Executive to support its continued growth across international markets.
The Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new commercial relationships, generating qualified opportunities, and managing the sales process from initial engagement through to onboarding.
The position is ideally suited to an ambitious sales professional with experience in payments, fintech, or financial services who enjoys building relationships, developing strategic partnerships, and exceeding commercial targets.
Responsibilities
- Identify, prospect, and acquire new corporate clients within the fintech, Payment Service Provider (PSP), technology, and e-commerce sectors.
- Develop and execute business development strategies to generate qualified leads and new business opportunities.
- Build and maintain a strong sales pipeline through networking, referrals, industry events, and proactive outreach.
- Develop relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders across target organisations.
- Present the company's products and services, understanding client requirements and proposing suitable payment solutions.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through negotiation and onboarding, working closely with internal teams.
- Achieve individual sales targets and contribute to the overall commercial growth of the business.
- Maintain accurate records of business development activity and pipeline progress using the company's CRM system.
- Monitor market developments, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within the payments and fintech sectors.
- Represent the company professionally at networking events, conferences, and industry functions.
Requirements
- 2-5 years' experience in business development, sales, or relationship management within payments, fintech, banking, or a Payment Service Provider (PSP).
- Previous experience in a similar role within the industry would be highly advantageous.
- Existing network within the local fintech and corporate business community is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of payment products and services, including corporate accounts, SEPA, SWIFT, and FX.
- Demonstrated success in generating new business and consistently achieving sales targets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Commercially driven, self-motivated, and relationship-focused.
- Fluent spoken and written English is essential; additional languages will be considered an advantage.
