Our client, an electronics store, is looking for an organised and reliable Bookkeeper to manage the store's day-to-day accounting records and support the smooth operation of its finance and administration functions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Record daily sales, purchases, receipts, payments, and other accounting transactions.
  • Reconcile bank accounts, cash balances, card payments, and point-of-sale transactions.
  • Maintain accurate supplier and customer accounts.
  • Process supplier invoices, credit notes, and payments.
  • Monitor outstanding customer balances and follow up on receivables where required.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and investigate any discrepancies.
  • Maintain proper records of inventory purchases and assist with stock reconciliations.
  • Prepare VAT-related records and supporting schedules for submission to the company's external accountant or auditor.
  • Prepare monthly accounting reports, including sales, expenses, payables, receivables, and cash-flow summaries.
  • Maintain organised electronic and physical accounting records.
  • Communicate with suppliers, banks, accountants, auditors, and government departments when necessary.
  • Support management with general administrative and financial tasks.
  • Assist with year-end accounting and audit information requests.


Requirements

  • Previous experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or a similar finance position.
  • Good understanding of basic accounting principles, VAT, and bank reconciliations.
  • Experience working with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
  • Good organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and reliability.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in Greek and English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience using Zoho Books is preferred.
  • LCCI Higher, Accounting Diploma, CAT, AAT, or another relevant qualification.
  • Experience working in a retail, wholesale, or inventory-based business.
  • Familiarity with Cyprus VAT procedures.
  • Experience reconciling point-of-sale systems, card terminals, and online payments.
